Gifts of all sizes make a difference. That’s why the Kiwanis Club of Flint has a charitable foundation – The Kiwanis Club of Flint Health Camp Foundation. It is a 501c3 organization that originated to help people with tuberculosis heal in a rural setting. The invention of penicillin meant people could recuperate at home, and the camp was sold. Proceeds from the sale were invested to provide charitable support for the greater Flint community for the life of the club.
Your gifts help Kiwanis Club of Flint provide support for local programs helping kids of all ages.

Joanne Piper was a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Flint. As one of the first women members in the Flint Club, her presence and contributions led the way for the many women who would follow and lead the club. Her career path led her from the YMCA to Director of the Mayor’s Office on Aging and Handicapped with the City of Flint. Her commitment to community service was evidenced in her work life, helping to fund Music in the Parks and other programming for Flint’s citizens. Joanne’s commitment to Kiwanis was strong. Even when she could no longer attend meetings, she remained active in the club by typing student athlete biographies for our Student Athlete of Year program book. Kiwanis Club of Flint received a tremendous honor and surprise when we learned Joanne had left a bequest to the club. Her generosity will continue to leave a legacy as the club funds special projects over the next three years from the Joanne Piper Memorial Fund.
